Mcloone HONORED FOR WORKPLACE WELLNESS
La Crosse, WI (June 1, 2012) Mcloone received a worksite wellness Gold Award from the La Crosse Area Family YMCA’s Pioneering Healthier Communities Team. The Team’s goal is to create an environment in the greater La Crosse area that promotes and supports healthy eating, an active lifestyle and maintaining a healthy weight. Mcloone was among thirty-six local employers, representing a total of 32,288 employees, recognized for their efforts in promoting healthier lifestyles to their employees.
To help with their wellness initiatives, Mcloone formed a Wellness Committee which implemented an on-site fitness center, lunch and learn sessions, a virtual “Race Across America” fitness challenge, daily fruit sales, “Love Yourself to Health” raffles, Wellness Bingo challenge, incentives for biking to work, and most recently a “Shoe Crew Challenge”.
“We are very proud of our company’s achievements in improving health and well-being of our employees” stated Melissa Kendhammer, Mcloone’s Human Resources Manager. “Mcloone is passionate about our wellness program and appreciates the community recognition. The steps we have taken make it easier for employees to eat healthier and lead a more active lifestyle,” Kendhammer added.
Over the next year, Mcloone will continue to strive to maintain the Gold status accolade from the La Crosse Area Family YMCA’s Pioneering Healthier Communities program.
